As the apparent need for new accounting guidelines arise, accounting organizations work around the clock to craft rules that address the grumbles of the people; the gaps in the current standing principles that need to be addressed. One of these organizations is GASB, or the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. They work to develop standards in financial accounting and reporting that foster visibility and clarity.

This is the first post in a series where we’ll be exploring various add-ins that enhance and extend the capabilities of Excel. There are different types of add-ins and in this series, we’ll focus on those available in the Excel app store. Excel app store? Yep! Well, it isn’t technically an Excel app store … it provides Office Add-ins. But, since I’m an Excel geek I like to think about it as an Excel app store.



The first add-in we’ll examine is People Graph.

This is the final post in the Slow to Fast series, where we are incrementally improving the efficiency of reconciliations.

In the first post, we looked at conditional formatting. This was a great option when the lists were relatively short, stored on the same worksheet, and only required us to look at a single column.
